Famous movie actress Claudia Cardinale, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and Dr. William Dar, who represented the CGIAR at the international Future of Drylands Conference sponsored by UNESCO, Oasis and other organizations in Tunis, 19-21 June 2006. Marking the International Year of Deserts and Desertification, the Conference highlighted the critical role that science and research play in helping people combat desertification.
